I was going to wait until I had finished a special drawing to help announce this news, but what the hell (most people don't read journal entries anyway), so at any rate I now have accounts on both Patreon and Tapastic where I host my core work regarding my original comic and cartoon series.

For those who are unfamiliar, Patreon is like an electronic tip-jar for artists. It basically combines the features of Deviantart and Kickstarter. Through Patreon an artist can display their work and fans can help support the artist's work by donating a set amount of money (which you set yourself) to that artist per month or creation. Tapastic is a little bit the same, but it's geared more toward comic artists exclusively.

I'm honestly not expecting much, but if you're in the finincial position and you really enjoy my work and want to see it continue and grow anything you can spare would be most appreciated. There is a tendency for people to accuse artists who use sites like Patreon of begging and these same people say we should just get a "real" job, but if you're an artist then making art IS your job. I'm a creator of fresh and original content, and I'm doing what I feel passionate about; as such I see nothing wrong with trying to make a living from that.

At any rate, these are two new sites where I will more exclusively be uploading my original comic and cartoon series, "The Toon 5some". Check me out and support me if you can and want. No obligation. My work is always accessible to the general public. As another bit of news I'm planning on entering into the LINE Webtoon contest too. I'll be posting more about that soon, so stay tuned...or not.
