Year of the Cat! by TheUnisonReturns Year of the Cat! by TheUnisonReturns
Whiskers is very jealous. For the last two years, Pyro and Jake have gotten to shine in the limelight of the Year of the Dragon and the Year of the Snake, but alas there is no Year of the Cat and the next Year of the Tiger won't be for another 8 years in 2022, and as such Whiskers has decided to remedy this issue in his own classy fashion.

Who the hell dedicates an entire year to a friggin' horse anyway?!

"In history, Kamikaze was a phenomenon seen by the peoples of Japan as divine winds sent to protect the providence of the nation from foreign invaders; its namesake was cemented after the typhoons that struck down Mongol invaders in 1274 and 1281."

And I think the Japanese usually associate the wind with horses... I don't really know, it's just what I heard.

Well, horses are a symbol of activity and driving power
in Chinese folklore, so they kinda get their praise as
such.
Japan however has some more liking for cats, as the
Maneki-Neko implies (often mistaken as Chinese,
though). Of course, it's a symbol of luck, so Whiskers
is the wrong call on this one.

Well, if it makes him feel better, Al Stewart wrote a very nice song called "Year of the Cat" :P
