The Jackal-Bat and the Imp

Being an amorphous shape-shifting entity, OPN can shift between any number of appearances at will. This has also resulted in him having something of a split identity, for he can assume different forms and powers for an otherwise indefinite amount of time; transforming not just his appearance but his skills and abilities as well. This power of supernatural malleability is perhaps the most prized of all his otherworldly talents. Think of it as an extreme form of cosplay, but just the same as with anybody OPN does have a particular set of preferred forms and guises he likes to assume. The Jackal-Bat and the Imp are the two he most adores.

In case, it wasn't already fairly clear, both forms are the same creature; just different variants of the same. For those Nintendo fans out there, just imagine that OPN is an EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND RARE Pokemon, and the Jackal-Bat is the evolved form of the Imp. They are both extremely powerful and dangerous, not just because of their innate ability to reshape themselves, but because of their power to reshape the world around them as well. The Imp's reality-bending powers are small scale, minor, and very temporary. The Jackal-Bat on the other hand can alter the nature of an entire world, move planets out of their orbit (and even phase them into other dimensions), he can retroactively change the course of history, and the changes he makes CAN be permanent.

Although OPN can morph between the Imp and the Jackal-Bat at will, he can be forced to change back into the Imp if his power level drops too low. It would take A LOT to do it, but if OPN's power level diminishes too much too quickly he is left temporarily too weak to maintain the Jackal-Bat form and morphs back into the Imp as sort of a reflex reaction. This doesn't do much though as he's still indestructible and pretty damn powerful even in "Imp Form". However, in this form, a high-level binding spell performed by a high-level witch or mage can be used to trap him (for a time), but he will eventually break free; for nothing can hold the Lord of the Dreaming Mist for long.
